Connecting medical and dental care

Don’t miss your opportunity to engage with a new tool that is transforming the way medical and dental providers communicate about a patient’s oral health.

Launched by Altarum Institute in 2016, Michigan’s Dental Registry (MiDRSM) is a statewide children’s oral health monitoring system.

Dentist IconWithin MiDR, doctors can document preventive oral health services provided, insert notes for the dentist to review and place referrals directly to dentists who accept patients with Healthy Kids Dental coverage. Referrals are transmitted via fax to the dental office, and the dental office can then look up the patient record directly and update it as needed.

Additionally, this new tool can help providers engage in federal incentive programs. MiDR is classified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Meaningful Use Specialized Registry.

More than 1,500 physicians and dentists use MiDR. Data collected by the tool is submitted to the state of Michigan, creating a valid, reportable data system for monitoring access to pediatric oral health services and overall dental caries rates.

Go directly to MiDR here, find it on the state of Michigan’s single sign-on (MILogin) and also through Allscripts Professional EHR. Sign up today, and use MiDR to:

Quarterly update mailings

As a reminder, all participating dentists will receive quarterly (four times a year) mailings asking you to confirm dental office information or to make corrections or additions as needed. This helps us ensure our provider records are accurate. For faster service please contact provider records at 800-656-6495 for correct form(s) and any required documentation to add a provider to your location.
