Harshil Aghera
Harshil Aghera is Senior Director of Technology and Innovation at Saddle Creek Logistics. Harshil oversees strategic priorities in automation, robotics, and vision at Saddle Creek in conjunction with industry partnership. In his role at Saddle Creek, Harshil chairs a cross-functional team that researches and implements various solutions to continually explore new ways to better serve Saddle Creek clients, customers, and associates.
With over 10 years of experience in large scale tech-based operations like Amazon and Chewy, Harshil has been successful in piloting, implementing, and scaling various cross-functional solutions. Harshil is passionate about leveraging data and technology to solve operational constraints, maximizing customer experience and increasing associate inclusivity.
Ed Shapiro
Ed Shapiro joined Capacity LLC in 2015 and serves as the Senior Director of Industrial Engineering. Ed leads a group of industrial and mechanical engineers who are focused on facility layout and design, continuous improvement of physical flow of materials, designing and scoping system enhancements, rolling out software products and algorithmically estimating costs of all new business opportunities. Since joining Capacity LLC., he has successfully led multi-million-dollar projects from design to launch in several brown field and green field distribution centers in NJ, IN, and CA, including the automation of e-commerce distribution processes in picking, put-to-light and shipping.
Prior to Capacity LLC., Ed was a Business Process Manager for Labatt Breweries of Canada (ABInbev). He earned his degree in Operations Management and Economics at McGill University.
Jacques van der Merwe
Jacq is an experienced automation expert with an extensive background in engineering. Having over fifteen years’ experience, Jacq has developed optimization concepts and warehouse automation systems throughout the Maersk network. As Head of Engineering and Automation at Maersk, Jacq manages a variety of teams that focus on automation design, technology acquisitions, sortation implementation, and robotics and conveyor systems. With a focus on technology and innovation strategies, Jacq supports the mission of Maersk with a passion for service, delivery and seeking improvements for future development.
Brian Kirst
Brian Kirst serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Synergy Logistics, where he oversees global sales, marketing, support, and after-sales services. Bringing over 30 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, and digital technology, Kirst previously led Synergy’s customer-facing operations in North America. Before joining Synergy in 2022, he co-founded and successfully scaled two 3PL order fulfillment companies, Total Reliance and Resurge Fulfillment, utilizing Synergy's SnapFulfil warehouse management system as a key differentiator. Under Kirst’s leadership, Synergy has expanded its presence globally to include new markets throughout Asia, complementing its established presence in North America and EMEA.
Nicholas Vigder
As the Senior Director of Automation Engineering at Walmart, Nicholas leads a team of talented engineers responsible for delivering large-scale and complex automation projects across the supply chain fulfillment network. With over a decade of experience in engineering, product management, and project management, he has successfully executed initiatives that reduce fulfillment costs, enhance capacity, speed, and quality, and support safety goals. His expertise spans e-commerce, distribution, manufacturing, and back -of-store fulfillment.
Shannan Newsome
Shannan Newsome is currently the Senior Vice President of Sales at ABCO Systems LLC. She is a senior sales leader with over 20 years of experience, delivering exceptional results and value for her clients and company.
She has a proven track record of building and transforming supply chain operations, exceeding business goals and objectives, and driving revenue and profit growth. She is passionate about helping customers optimize their supply chain processes and leverage cutting-edge technology and automation to achieve operational excellence and competitive advantages.
