Middle School Social Skills Program

The story we often see is that a child is social early-on, but as the social complexities of life occur, parents start to see their child struggle to make and keep friendships. Children may isolate, try "too hard" to make friends, or lack initiative in starting conversations.
This group has been designed to include experiences that many children with ADHD, ASD, and anxiety face. We will help your child build a healthy foundation of social skills. Such skills include: basic communication behaviors, initiating conversations, picking up on social cues, handling disagreements, and assertiveness training.
We offer a safe, comfortable place for your child to express themselves, and participate in role-play exercises with their peers to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
This 12-session program will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM IN PERSON starting Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Dr. Robert Greenstone is a Child and adolescent psychologist at The Chesapeake Center. His approach is an engaging, collaborative, and solution-focused approach. He has led a number of social skills groups for middle and high schoolers to help them learn about themselves, embrace who they are, find the right friendships, and feel socially healthy.
Sessions are $125/session, coded as group therapy (90853) if you are submitting to your insurance for potential reimbursement options. We will process payment after each session and send an electronic invoice with everything you need to submit to your insurance.
