The Moms Hotline Groups
These weekly groups are flexible - we don’t want to add any more stress to your lives! However, we are reserving your spot in the group and asking you to commit to 8 sessions. You are going to be on a journey with this group of moms, and we do ask for a level of commitment. We ask that you prioritize your participation in this group both for your own self-care and the dynamic of the group. Sessions are $75 billed weekly.
Description of Group
These groups are designed to be a safe outlet for mothers to vent, celebrate small achievements, and learn from others in the same boat during this very unusual time. Moms will be able to connect, feel heard, learn strategies to manage households, children, emotions, etc. You do not need to feel alone in this journey!
One of the biggest challenges is helping children of all ages with distance or hybrid learning. Our center specializes in treating those with ADHD and neurocognitive or learning differences, and these groups will include practical strategies to help.
Moms of Younger Children - Fridays from 12 PM - 1 PM
Facilitated by Dr. Thiala Alves
Dr. Alves is a trilingual (Portuguese, English, Spanish) licensed psychologist whose training also focused on pediatric neuropsychology. While working under the supervision of Dr. Kathleen Nadeau, Dr. Alves developed a strong interest in treating girls and women with ADHD and/or other medical or mental health issues that impact cognitive functioning. Having had her first child in the recent years, Dr. Alves has experienced firsthand the dichotomy of motherhood: feelings that can range from absolute joy to utter despair, all within a few short minutes!
She believes that the endless challenges of parenting young children are filled with great potential for growth and self-discovery, particularly to those who are lucky enough to have unconventional, unique brains. She uses a holistic approach to treatment that focuses not only on addressing immediate difficulties, but also on building lifelong learning skills that foster body and mind optimal health.
Moms of Middle/High Schoolers - Tuesdays from 5 PM - 6 PM
Shereen Rubenstein practiced as a social worker for over 20 years and is now a Certified Life Coach. She ran a meaningful and supportive mom's group, Driven to Despair, that lasted four years. A large part of her coaching practice is working with parents of challenging children, which can often include a focus on the tremendous and painful stress on the couple's relationship. Shereen has been married for over 25 years and is the mother of three children. Having raised and witnessed her children transform into young adults, she considers herself profoundly experienced in the turbulence of parenting.
