The Chesapeake Center

NEW DATES for our outdoor adventure therapy program, in partnership with Bretton Woods Recreation Center, for middle and high school students struggling with ADHD, depression, anxiety, virtual "burnout" or poor social integration or isolation.

The journey will consist of a weekend day program that will engage your child socially, emotionally and most important physically. The primary goal is to help struggling students build confidence, increase self esteem and develop tools to problem-solve, navigate social and family relationships constructively, and better manage the challenges of distance learning.

This outdoor experience will also include parents on the last day, helping to improve family connection and engagement. Our group family encounters will help parents to better understand some of the challenges that their child faces and how to encourage them on their journey toward self-sufficiency.

Our goal is that participants will leave this adventure therapy experience hands and heads held high, with a better appreciation of their own abilities and motivation towards developing the skills they need to achieve independence and success.

What to Expect:

  • Team-building activities
  • Outdoor activities such as: canoeing, rock climbing, ropes courses, orienteering, primitive survival skills, archery, games
  • Integrative group and family therapy
  • Connection with nature and focus on the present moment
  • Exercises to help with goal-development, self-esteem, and more
