HBS is still monitoring this program and will update this page once more information, including a start date, is available.
The IRA provides the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funding for a High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program (HEEHRA). HEEHRA is designed to help low to moderate-income families go green by providing rebates for energy efficient upgrades to help lower monthly utility bills, improve indoor air quality, and reduce carbon emissions.
The HEEHRA program allows low and moderate-income families to receive up to $14,000 in grants to increase the efficiency of their homes and move towards electric appliances. Under the HEEHRA program, low and moderate incomes can receive up to a $1,600 grant to install spray foam insulation.
HBS is tracking the development of the HEEHRA program, which may take several months to a year. We anticipate the program will be implemented similarly to the Weatherization Assistance Program, where DOE will provide grants to states and the states will release funding to homeowners. HBS will provide more information as it becomes available.
