Thousands of children are exploring Chew on This, Delta Dental’s oral health exhibit, at its temporary new home at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
The interactive exhibit funded by the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) moved in February to Ann Arbor from Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing.
The DDF also provided $20,000 to fund 52 field trips for about 4,600 eligible pre-K through fourth-grade students. While in Ann Arbor, it is expected that 300,000 children and adults will visit the exhibit.
Chew on This, created by Impression 5 Science Center with $100,000 in funding from the DDF, allows students to clean giant teeth with larger-than-life dental instruments, operate a mini video camera to take a peek inside their mouths, make healthy food choices at the Smart Mart and view MRI images to watch the mechanics of the mouth.
