    Well built!
Added to my Silverado 1500 HD for towing a 7400lb travel trailer. The test run was a 600 mile drive through high winds, truck ladened freeway, and Colorado mountain passes. All went well without incident. It's a bit noisy when going slow to park but otherwise fine. Handled beautifully.

First Experience with a WDH, Great Customer Service, Easy Installation and Adjustibility.
So far, I love this hitch. I have never installed a weight-distribution hitch before, but the directions were very straight-forward. The hitch distributed the weight as advertised, and my truck rides level when towing my trailer. My towing weight was right on the borderline of the 10k hitch, so I called 'Equalizer' on the phone. They actually pick up the phone, get you to the right person, and answer all of your questions!!! I can't say enough about that -this was a huge factor in why I chose this hitch. Anyhow, they recommended that I go with the 12k hitch. While I thought this would be overkill, it works perfectly being that it is fully adjustable. I have not towed enough yet to comment on the anti-sway function of the product, but so far, so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Night and Day difference with Control feel.
The difference is incredible going from a standard chain style WD system to this product. The rig feels more like one vehicle, instead of two vehicles fighting each other. Our camper is only 4500 lbs, with tongue weight of 450, but it is tall, with lifted suspension, and allot of wind surface, so it was more about the sway control, than the weight distribution. I think being a single axle makes our camper more prone to sway, so this product was perfect.

    Fantastic unit
Our RV dealer suggested this unit and it is great pulling our 33' camper. Easy to hook up and unhook. We were stopped several times by people asking how we liked it. Especially when we were high in the mountains.

    Great sway control hitch
This hitch does a phenomenal job of reducing sway making our trailer a breeze to pull. We pull an 36 ft long 8200# travel trailer with our Nissan NV 3500. I was a little worried about pulling something this heavy, but this hitch is great. It is easy to hook up and you barely notice when a big semi comes flying by. I do recommend putting the sway bracket jackets on. They are cheap and reduce the grinding significantly. Not sure what else to say. If you are thinking about getting it, do it. Worth every penny.

8,502 miles later I'm still happy with this purchase.
Bought this for a cross-country trip this past summer having never used a weight distributing hitch before. Installation was a bit time consuming, set aside several hours on a flat surface to get it right, and be aware you'll probably need to re-do a few things after an initial test run. So yes, it takes some work to get it all set up and ready to fly. But once it's on it couldn't be easier to use. We drove from California to Florida and back this last summer, over 8k miles, and the Equalizer was never a problem, it worked flawlessly the whole time. During short runs where we'd hook up the trailer and not put on the stabilizer bars it was perfectly clear how much of a difference this thing makes when towing our 14ft travel trailer. I was pretty nervous about buying this item because of the cost involved and the work needed to set it up, but after the very first day of using it on our trip I was already happy I did the research and chose this item. You won't regret it!

    Installation
Towed a 7000 pound toy hauler with 3500 ram down to the Florida keys. Hitch set up, long process of figuring out clamp placement on the trailer, hitch height and angle and weight distribution. Need to read the directions carefully. Hitch works as advertised, no noise as reported, heavily dressed and loosened extension bolts that were to tight. Heavy duty medal bars and hitch. so far rated a 10 out of 10.

    I didn't want any chains.
Recently installed this on my new travel trailer. I think the product is great. I think the written instruction manual could have been much better. I resorted to watching a few YouTube videos to fully understand installation and setup. Attaching the weight distribution bars was best accomplished by jacking the trailer up, while still attached to the hitch ball, until the bars were the same height as the support. On the road there is a major difference with/without the weight control bars attached. I haven't been on the road enough to feel the anti sway working.

    Some serious hardware!
Warning: your UPS guy might hate you for buying this... it weighs a boat-load. Also the packaging seems a bit under-prepared for shipping purposes. However, this thing is a beast. I give it 4 stars not because it is bad, but there may be a better option... I bought the version that does NOT have a ball attached. That was a mistake, because to install your own ball requires a massive torque wrench and a well chosen socket. Make sure you understand the implications of this before you choose to get this option vs. the same hitch the the ball included.

The best for load equalization and sway control.
Bought this here and could pay for installation, cheaper than buying it a the RV place I bought my camper. RV tech stated this is the best brand for 4 way contro

    Excellent weight distribution hitch!
This is excellent, the best even. It's a bit expensive compared to others and though I do believe you get what you pay for, this may be a bit much. The one thing I wish they'd improve is packaging. This entire unit is scraped, scratched, and scraped some more. It all has to do with heavy product banging around. There's got to be something they can do. Granted this product is often cleaned and painted when it gets ragged, it even talks about painting parts that have the paint worn off, but you don't expect to do it before its first use. Despite packing material being intact, it looks like this product is 6 months old. Regardless, it's a great unit and does what it does as good, if not better than other products.

Safety And Security On The Road
I bought a 26 foot trailer and I didn't want to use a ball and receiver for fear of swaying. I did a lot of searching and this is what everyone was talking about, even some co workers that had them. I know it is more expensive than the one with chains, but this is very heavy duty, I think 125 lbs. worth of solid steel. This is not hollow. Safety was my main concern while pulling and I am very relaxed now while driving. Not only does this stop swaying but it also levels the truck so the front end is not higher than the rear. I did buy some lithium spray to help move the 2 bars in place because it's pretty hard to move the bars for the first couple of times. I had this professionally installed which cost $150.00. To me and my friends, this is the only hitch to get for pulling long trailers.

    Excellent for 2015 5.0 F150 with 8,00lb toy hauler
I previously had the old style chain weight distribution hitch and brake style sway "control". It was terrible but I hadn't realized just how bad it was till I bought this. This Equalizer system virtually eliminated sway and is much more capable of helping my truck support the load. My previous system wouldn't allow me to go over 50 in even the slightest wind without terrifying sway. With the Equalizer, everything is smooth and controlled at 75-80. I'm very impressed. This was worth every penny. It creaks and groans during low speed parking lot driving. It's annoying but tolerable when I remember how great it works.

Great hitch. The sway issue is gone
I have installed this hitch after having some serious sway issues with another hitch system made by another company. This hitch has exceeded my expectations by far. The sway was completely gone, I was finally able to drive over 55mph on the freeway, did not feel any wind (and there was 23mph wind), installation was fairly easy and took my son and I about 2 hours. The only thing that is kind of negative with this product is it’s physical weight. This thing is HEAVY! I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a great sway control / weight distribution hitch.

Great hitch- this is my second one
I purchased my first Equal-I-zer rated for 6000lbs a few years back to fit a travel trailer. We just purchased a larger trailer that exceeded the rating of that hitch, I was happy with the product, so we purchased this one rated for 10,000lbs. The initial set-up of this hitch may be a little more difficult than other weight distribution hitches due to how it is configured (no chains for adjustment at the A frame) and may require some trial & error. The included instructions are detailed and there are many videos on YouTube that can show you the process. Once you get it properly set up, it is very easy to hitch / unhitch. They provide a cheater bar, but you never have to use it. Truck and trailer tow well together and sway is controlled.

    Well worth the price
Seems really HD. Lots of beef to the hitch. I strongly suggest you get the arm pads. They work.

    This is the one.
We used an Anderson WDH for a while. I have no complaints about that hitch but then we tried this one and wow. Pulling is so much more stable. Wind gusts, trucks passing. It's so steady, we didn't really know what we were missing. I now know why this hitch has such a loyal following. Its no fuss and it works. We did buy the "silencer" pads so haven't had noise complaints that we've read online

    Must have
I think this is a must have if your towing large weights on a ball. I drove a 30' cargo trailer probably weighing around 10k 4500 miles. I had no issues with sway. The wind would push the trailer but the sway bars would keep it in line. I honestly don't think I would of made it without the bars. My only compliant is the ball was not low enough to line it up properly with my trailer so the trailer was high in front. I see they have a different set up hitch that is lower than this one but I think it should come standard as many trucks are quite high off the ground. It is also should come with complimentary grease for your first trip.

    Great hitch
I looked and researched quite a while before deciding on this hitch. SO GLAD I did! Pulled new RV home from dealership and had no sway whatsoever. You get what you pay for!

Great addition to the tow vehicle
I currently use this for a Ram 1500 towing a jayco 224BH. It works AMAZING. It’s night and day difference between towing with and without it. My biggest recommendation is if you plan on dry camping and towing with water in your water heater and water tank then fill everything before you setup the hitch. If you do it later you’re measurements will probably be off because you’re adding maybe 350lbs or more of weight when you fill those. Also, if you often tow to truck stops to dump you might want to consider filling one of those (or both to half) to simulate your normal loan. From my experience, if you set everything up and THEN fill your tanks you may experience a bit more bumpy ride then if everything is empty. This also includes a generator. If you use one, put it where you normally have it for travel before you configure the hitch. Install was VERY easy. I did need a different torque wrench to get to the 320ft lbs of torque. I’m very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not too hard to install and made big difference towing
This WDH was a fairly easy install. It made a big difference in how my F150 tows my 6,000 Lb trailer (600 tongue weight) - stopped all fishtailing and porpoising. The only negative is, like many say, it is a little noisy. I do get some looks from people when I make a turn on the street or in the campground. And the sounds it makes are a little unsettling until you get used to them.
    Gravatar for https://www.equalizerhitch.com/wp-content/plugins/shopwp-pro/assets/default-avatar.png
Easy to install and works great.
I know you can buy a cheaper version but after seeing the solid steel bars on the stabilizers, I wouldn’t feel as safe with anyone but equil-I-zer. Plus it’s made in the USA. Really easy to install and they give you a step by step process to make sure it’s balanced. I didn’t think our trailer swayed until I installed this and realized it was actually more than I thought. I would highly recommend!

    Good product for towing
Had this unit before so once the first was stollen off my tow vehicle I went for this again due to the mounting hardware on the trailer was already there. Have used this product for 8 years and have not had any issues with it.

    Life saving difference
We tow a Forest River 26DBH (31 ft/7,000 lbs) with our Ram 1500. With another hitch (chain style weight distribution and anti-sway bar), we were white-knuckled in any sort of wind and when vehicles passed. When driving across the country, we slowed to 40 mph due to dangerous swaying. We bought this hitch in the hopes that we’d be able to avoid buying a 3/4 ton truck. All I can saw is “wow!” All sway is gone and we drive the windiest conditions at highway speeds with extreme confidence. This hitch is worth its weight in gold.

    By far the best hitch
Towing an 8000lb travel trailer with a 2016 F-250 diesel. Just over 1000lb on the tongue. This hitch put the weight back on the front axle and never allowed the trailer to sway. Also gave a perfect no-bounce ride even on wavy roads. It actually damped that out. You can back up the trailer all you want without removal of the sway bars. I utilized the 2 5/16" Equal-i-zer 91006120 Hitch Ball to make sure the ball shank was not too long and protrude into the sway bar rotation mechanism but I was not able to torque the large nut, but a local trailer place did it free. I also utilized the Equal-i-zer 95015150 Sway Bracket Jacket to quite down the noise. These jackets are an absolute must and they work. I ordered two sets. Virtually no noise at all especially when you use Equal-i-zer 91004250 High Performance Lubricant on the sway bar mechanism at the hitch. The grease kept working even after repeated rains. I have a V-nose trailer and this hitch still fit the frame due to the trailer manufacture keeping an appropriate spacing between the housing and the frame truss. I was able to mount the frame brackets at the recommended long length to give the spring bar the maximum flexibility. It made a difference. There is a reason this hitch keeps selling. There is not one better. Only comparable.

    Equalizer Hitch review
I have been pulling a travel trailer for over ten years. We are on our fourth unit now and have used three different hitches, the Reese Dual Cam anti-sway load leveling hitch, the Husky Centerline and now the Equalizer. The Reese was fine, the Husky was so heavy (72 lbs) that it blew my back out (requiring surgery - Ok to lift straight up guys but DO NOT twist your torso even inadvertently as I did!) and now the Equalizer. At 40 lbs, and in performance, it is in my humble opinion, the finest piece of towing equipment that I have used. I did camp next to another Equalizer hitch user who was very unhappy with his unit. He reported sway problems and he had a smaller and somewhat lighter trailer than mine. We looked at them side by side and quickly picked up a number of installation issues on his unit. I learned that he did a self install and had not followed the detailed instructions that came with the trailer. [A nice guy, but a "know it all," I guess.) Conversely, I had a trusted dealer install mine, while I watched (and learned) with the book in my hands. The bottom line is, mine works like a dream and his did not. If you are handy and will follow the instructions "by the numbers" I know that you will agree with me that the Equalizer hitch is a fine piece of equipment and you will be very satisfied with your purchase. I also viewed their instructional video repeatedly even before I watched the dealer do his thing! At 70 years old I just didn't want to risk another back injury. Still trailering with my Wife and Good Sams!

It did a better job than I expected
This hitch leveled the truck & trailer & solved the sway issue. It did a better job than I expected & I found the installation rather easy except for the torque on the ball.

The best weight distribution hitch I've seen
I've had a few of these weight distribution hitches and went ahead and spent the $ for this one. We've had it for going on 3 years now and the hitch is excellent. Setup correctly and you'll have a great handling tow rig. Sway and white knuckling never happens when I use this hitch. Highly recommended!

Sway Control Brackets

Rigid trailer brackets are mounted directly on the trailer frame. Using friction, they resist movement from the spring arms, working to eliminate sway and keep your trailer safely behind you. Brackets are height adjustable to control the amount of weight distribution tension on the spring arms, providing the optimum level of weight distribution and increasing braking and steering control.

Spring Arms

The spring arms serve two purposes. When raised onto the sway control brackets they transfer trailer tongue weight evenly to the tow vehicle. They also work with the friction sway control to combat trailer sway.

Downward Pressure

Downward pressure from the trailer tongue increases friction sway control. The trailer coupler mounts here, and can be hooked up from any angle, providing an easy hitching and unhitching experience.

Upward Pressure

Sway control brackets distribute weight by maintaining upward pressure on the spring arms. The amount of pressure on the spring arms is a factor of trailer tongue weight and vehicle suspension. The 4-Point Sway Control™ utilizes this pressure to combat trailer sway and provide the highest level of weight distribution, providing a more stress-free, enjoyable drive.

Friction Sway Control

Friction is enhanced by downward pressure from the trailer tongue and upward pressure on the spring arms. These opposing pressures come together to create an unequaled sway control system. This pressure combats trailer sway more effectively than any other sway control hitch on the market, providing you peace of mind every time you tow.

Weight Distribution & Sway Control Hitch

The Equal-i-zer is made in the USA and offers best-in-class sway control and weight distribution.

Hitch Info

Weight Distribution Keeps you Safe

Have you ever driven by a vehicle towing a trailer and noticed the trailer tongue or back of the tow vehicle sagging? Without weight distribution, the trailer’s tongue weight added to the tow vehicle can cause it to “teeter-totter” over the rear axle which lifts the weight off the front wheels. This can cause a serious loss of steering and braking control, and can also contribute to a setup that is more likely to sway.

The Equal-i-zer hitch’s weight distributing design effectively transfers trailer tongue weight to all the axles and helps keep the front of the tow vehicle firmly on the road.

Without an Equal

The Equal-i-zer hitch keeps you safer than any other trailer hitch on the market, helping you tow with confidence and ease. Ball mounts and other weight distribution hitches fall short. They don’t provide the same level of sway control and weight distribution needed for passing semi trucks, unexpected quick braking, and driving in crosswinds or bad weather.

The Equal-i-zer hitch gives you a safer ride by providing both sway control and weight distribution. This provides better steering, braking, and sway control, which help eliminate stressful driving situations and work to keep your family and your investment safe on the road.

Hitch Info

Points 1-2: The Patented Equal-i-zer Hitch Head

The patented Equal-i-zer hitch head creates two powerful points of rotational friction that work to stop side-to-side sway before it starts. The sway control is activated by downward pressure from the trailer tongue and upward pressure on the spring arms. The spring arms link the hitch head to the sway control brackets and distribute trailer tongue weight. The tension of the hitch head pinching the two spring arm sockets are the points of friction that effectively hold the trailer in line behind the tow vehicle and combat sway.

Points 3-4: Rigid Trailer Brackets

The Equal-i-zer hitch’s unique rigid bracket design provides two additional integrated friction sway control points. These friction points are activated by loading the spring arms. The Equal-i-zer’s rigid brackets eliminate the unwanted side-to-side spring bar movement. Equal-i-zer’s original design, combined with the stability added by the rigid brackets, makes it the best protection for your journey.

Our Integrated 4 Point Sway Control® provides the highest level of resistance against sway. There is no other hitch on the market that offers as much sway control as the Equal-i-zer.

Hitch Info

Integrated Sway Control® Provides a Safer, More Comfortable Ride

The Equal-i-zer hitch eliminates the need for add-on sway control devices and the hassle that goes along with them. With an Equal-i-zer hitch, you don’t have to worry about restrictions on backing up or a tight turning radius. There’s nothing extra to hook up or take off. When the weight distribution is engaged, the sway control is engaged too, providing your family the best protection possible.
