Operation Nerdywork: A MEDITECH RULES REVOLUTION
Overview:
What began as an education session on the MEDITECH 6.x Rules engine quickly snowballed into a concentrated collaboration between Galen Healthcare Solutions and a Focus Group of nine MEDITECH hospitals looking to fill gaps in clinical workflow. We called our effort #NerdyWork, and our goal was to figure out how industry frustrations and pain points can be addressed with embedded rule logic and intuitive workflow redesign. We are on a mission to change “Working as Designed” to “Working as Desired”.

- Evaluate up to 1000 problems in a single rule and offer clinical decision support.
- Use patient height, weight and stress level to auto-calculate the components of the TPN order.
- Evaluate the list of orders and auto-notify the receiving provider of orders to continue or discontinue.
