Supply Chain Strategy


Synopsis:

In this session, Professor Bassamboo will discuss the strategic view of the supply chain by defining supply chain management and shedding light on how it contributes to the success of a firm. He will also introduce a framework that helps us better understand a good supply chain structure and the uncertainty that such structure faces.


About the Speaker: 

Professor Achal Bassamboo is the Charles E. Morrison Professor at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is also the co-director of the MMM program which is dual degree program between Kellogg and Segal Design at McCormick School. Professor Bassamboo's research interests lie in the areas of service systems, revenue management and information sharing and his articles have appeared in leading journals, including Management Science, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Operations Research.

Professor Bassamboo was awarded the 2016 "Young Scholar Award" given by the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society for his research and was also nominated for L.G. Lavengood Professor of the year 2021 at Kellogg. He has served on the editorial boards for Management Science, POMS and Naval Research Logistics.
