Professor Karl Schmedders’ research interests include computational economics, general equilibrium theory, asset pricing and portfolio selection. His work has been published in Econometrica, The Review of Economic Studies, The Journal of Finance, and many other academic journals. Professor Schmedders has been named to the Faculty Honor Roll in every quarter he has taught at Kellogg, and has received numerous teaching awards, including the 2002 Lawrence G. Lavengood Outstanding Professor of the Year. He has recently been elected an Economic Theory Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, a prestigious recognition that only goes to outstanding individuals who contribute significantly to science, originality, leadership, and creativity.

Game Theory in Business and Life 


Synopsis:

Game theory is the branch of social science that studies strategic decision-making. The field is far from being complete, and much strategic thinking remains an art. Still, game theory can help us to provide better strategic decisions in daily life. In this sample class, we will discuss common situations in which insights from game theory can help us.
