Description: How do you get your elected officials to connect that trail gap, paint that crosswalk, or build that much needed bike lane? How do you get more of your neighbors interested in creating abundant walking, bicycling and transit options in your community? Jim Merrell, Advocacy Director at Active Trans, will present strategies to help you build your base of supporters and engage your elected officials. The webinar will include best practices on writing a petition, meeting with elected officials, and organizing events. Greg Glover from the McHenry County Bicycle Advocates will also be sharing his experience collecting over 1,000 petition signatures to close the Bull Valley Trail gap.
