Edie & Watson partnered with Octoly to develop its brand awareness through the Instagram community. Since April 2016, the brand has proposed a wide array of glasses with new arrival products and sneak previews of upcoming products. They chose to target a highly varied audience of influencers in terms of age, style and number of subscribers (from 10,000 to 500,000).
OBJECTIVES AND CHALLENGES
Instagram Strategy
On Instagram, our main goal is to build awareness. Therefore we have chosen to focus on creators with a high number of followers without neglecting the engagement rate (total number of likes and comments per photo relative to the number of followers). Then, we look at the aesthetic side of the creator’s feed to choose which ones align the most with our brand universe.

That way, when we receive requests from influencers outside Octoly, we redirect them to the platform. This allows us to better manage the products we offer to influencer and facilitates a better monitoring process.”

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Founded in November 2014, Edie & Watson is a french startup that offers anti-blue light glasses for everyone- without vision correction. These polarized lenses and lighted yellow tinted filter the blue light emitted by computer, TV and smartphone screens. They minimize the multiple negative side effects that come with spending your day in front of a screen: eye strain, headache and progressively declining eyesight.  

The brand is very engaged with its community and manages to make its clients into ambassadors by re-gramming their photos on Instagram. Thanks to their “StudioInsta” initiative, their followers have the opportunity to be photographed professionally and emphasizes on the community vibe. Following this, the brand engages regularly with everyone with its quirky sense of humour via quizzes and contests where they can win all sorts of glasses.
