TRACE Compliance Chapters - What They Are
TRACE Compliance Chapters offer an opportunity for compliance professionals in TRACE member companies to share insights, exchange best practices and build community. Like other TRACE knowledge-sharing events, such as annual flagship events, roundtables and workshops, TRACE Compliance Chapter meetings offer timely and informative content on anti-bribery compliance developments and can be attended at no cost. Unlike these events however, Compliance Chapter meetings are held quarterly in the same locations and hosted by a local Chapter Chair who is a senior compliance professional in that community, as well as a representative of a TRACE member company. In between meetings, TRACE’s Compliance Chapter Liaison facilitates an ongoing dialogue and exchange of ideas among members of the group.
Compliance Chapter meetings are 90-minute sessions and include both a TRACE-generated presentation, as well as a local topic. Meetings also provide time for attendees to mingle and interact, fostering development of the local compliance community. The TRACE-generated topic is common for all Compliance Chapters in that quarter. At the conclusion of that series of meetings, TRACE generates a summary highlighting key insights that are shared among localities, or that vary as between different communities. This comparative aspect of the TRACE Compliance Chapters is valuable for aiding compliance professionals in their efforts to benchmark developments in the field.
TRACE Compliance Chapters – How They Work
The Chapter Chair helps with identifying local topics and presenters and moderating meetings. The TRACE-produced segment is typically delivered via Webex by a senior TRACE-selected professional. Occasionally, the TRACE presenter will attend Chapter meetings in person. To accommodate work commitments, Chapter meetings are held at well-known venues in central business districts, either at the beginning of the day, over a light breakfast, or towards the end of the day, over drinks and canapés. The aim is to provide a confidential and congenial environment for TRACE member company representatives to share ideas, questions and insights.
Each member company may send up to 2 representatives to attend a Chapter meeting. There is no registration fee for Chapter meetings – you just need to be a TRACE member company and to register online. If you are unable to attend a meeting (s), you may still join your local Compliance Chapter to receive meeting takeaways.
