This time last week, a few of us from AEG spent 24hrs out of the office on a farm in Yorkshire learning more about regenerative agriculture. Amazing to see TheNinetyThird by Qatar Airways officially launched at The O2. A huge team effort to get to this point and everyone at The O2 and AEG Europe knows who they are! But I wanted to give a particular shout out to the F&B and hospitality team behind it all. Levy have been a brilliant partner on this project, delivering on a Fine Dining Reimagined concept in the restaurant as well as an amazing cocktail Bar 1800 with Proximo Spirits. In addition they've absolutely nailed the service levels and staffing which is so often the hardest thing to get right in our industry. The whole thing is truly Best in class. Huge shout out to Matthew Gregoire, Nina Brüning, Sabrine Larsen, Sofia Freeman, Rak Kalidas, Mark Reynolds, Thierry Diagaradjou, Alex Stephanopoulos, Joseph Allen, Jordan Maxwell and a whole host of others who contributed to getting to this point. What an amazing article to finish the year ! It’s been another incredible and record breaking 12 months at The O2 and I’m consistently amazed at how much work the team put in every day to sell every single one of these 2.5 million + tickets. Of course it’s a huge team effort across multiple departments to deliver this but I wanted to take the opportunity to pay credit to our ticketing partners AXS and all of my team at The O2 in both Ticketing and Premium Ticketing. Huge shout out to every single one of you for being so good at what you do – truly Best in Class ! Excited to see what 2024 has in store and to keep working with the best in the business. Fascinating morning last week contributing to the conversation around Sustainability in Sport at Wimbledon. Thanks to Hattie Park for the invite and to everyone involved for a lively debate. Really interesting to see rights holders, sponsors and journalists in the same room which made for some quite pointed questions and uncomfortable moments! Overall though it was a great conversation and Wimbledon continue to do brilliant things in the sustainability space. We talked a bit about the cross-over from music to sport and whether players can do more to drive the agenda, as we are now seeing with artists in the music industry and at The O2. It was great to have Laura Robson on the panel to give the players perspective on it all. Really interesting conversation and a great initiative so thanks to all those who played a part in organising.

What a few weeks it has been, working with one of the biggest artists in the world and all of her team! Big shout out to Christian D'Acuña and everyone else at The O2 who has worked on this one! The article highlights some of what’s been achieved but it feels incredibly surreal for me to see my work and personal life come together so closely.  Overheated and 6 nights of Billie at The O2 has been brilliant but seeing her headline Glastonbury on Friday night was something else altogether. Glastonbury means so much to so many people but for me, the town has been home for 20+ years and the festival itself an annual event since 2003. Sustainability is at the heart of Glastonbury and the need to look after our planet is something grounded in me from attending the festival for so many years. I feel very grateful to now be in a position to drive real change in the music industry so a big thank you to AEG, but in particular to John Langford and Steve Sayer, for providing me that opportunity.  To see the two worlds collide on Friday was unbelievable; first watching Overheated in the Greenpeace field with Janette Fernandez, Mike Malak and Maggie Baird before witnessing Billie step out onto the pyramid stage. Absolutely a once in a lifetime moment.  I must have seen 50+ artists play that stage but never before (or again probably!) from a combination of backstage and then up above the crowds so a huge shout out to Janette and the team for sorting.  Billie is truly a mind blowing individual at only 20 years old and the next generation should give us all hope in the fight against climate change. But we must do more now.  My main takeaway from the last few months is we need more people making small changes. Overheated encouraged everyone to make a pledge so here’s mine - “I’m attempting to go single use free for the month of July”.  I’d love to hear if anyone else is willing to make a pledge? Great article in Music Week below and another step in the right direction ! 3 bits of Covid related good news to start my Wednesday morning; - Not a single Covid case recorded from The BRITS 2 weeks ago - testament to the hard-work that was put in by every one involved - Delighted for former colleagues/partners and all the teams at England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Edgbaston and Levy Restaurants as they announce 17,000 fans can attend the test match next month. - I'm now eligible for the vaccine - it's clearly popular this morning as I'm number 3,000 in the virtual queue but will be worth the wait. Feeling positive and hopeful that things are very much looking up...

After 429 days without events at the world’s number one venue, last night we welcomed fans back into our building. The last 14 months have been a rollercoaster for the whole industry but the team here at The O2 have continued to work tirelessly and all the hard work really paid off with a brilliant event. There are too many people to mention but I’ve definitely got to call out Team Ticketing. Last night represented my first show with responsibility for ticketing and I’m in awe of the hard-work that Veronica Kakuba, Arthur Samms, Danny Hannaford and all of their teams at The O2 and AXS put in; not only to deliver events back to The O2 but to deliver our first ever event with every single ticket delivered digitally via AXS Mobile ID in The O2 Venue app. The O2 team, Levy Restaurants and Realife Tech delivered a new till system throughout the venue alongside new technology for food and drink ordering via The O2 Venue app. There’s no denying that technology has a huge role to play in the recovery of live events and it’s great to see The O2 at the forefront of this. Last night meant so much to everyone here at AEG and the whole of the live events industry – things are looking up and hopefully this is just the start of many more events in the coming months!

First day back at work after the festive break and trying to start the year looking for the positives - made a little more difficult with a planned government announcement for this evening...
