SSE Enterprise Rail has secured a five-year programme of works under Network Rail’s building and civils framework.

The combined potential value of the works awarded to the company is more than £200m.

It will be delivered within the period from 2019 to 2024, while early works under the framework will begin from this year.

The overall framework comprises mechanical and electrical engineering services, building services and fabric works on a range of Network Rail infrastructure assets located in the south of England and Wales.

SSE Enterprise Rail will be responsible for the works in Wales, including the North and South Routes. Its new Taff Wells offices will be involved in carrying out operations in Wales.

SSE Enterprise Rail managing director Raj Sinha said: “With other strong opportunities on the horizon, we are working collaboratively to identify and deliver value-adding solutions through initiatives such as asset and project funding, asset ownership and alliances with Network Rail and other organisations, including HS2 and Transport for London.”

The company also placed successful bids for the Wessex route and London North West. It will carry out the tasks in conjunction with the works on both the North and South routes.
