Shanghai Keolis has opened the first section of the Songjiang tram line in China.

The 13.9km long section comprises 20 stations and runs from Canghua station in the west to Zhongchen station in the east.

Additionally, the light rail tramway offers connectivity to Shanghai’s existing metro Line 9.

Shanghai Keolis is a joint venture (JV) between Shanghai Shentong Metro Group and Keolis.

Songjiang is a suburban district of Shanghai with nearly 1.8 million residents. The opening of the tram line is expected to enable residents to switch to the faster and more environmentally friendly transportation alternative, as well as connect with the integrated metro system of the city.
