Fluor-led joint venture (JV) Denver Transit Partners (DTP) has completed the construction of the Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Project in the US city of Denver.

The company also announced the opening of the 11-mile Gold Line (G Line) between Downtown Union Station and Wheat Ridge Station, the third and final commuter rail line under the Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Project.

Fluor’s infrastructure and power business president Terence Easton said: “Fluor is proud of the G Line opening as it signifies the completion of Denver’s investment in key infrastructure improvements and increases connectivity for commuters for generations to come.

In June 2010, Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) awarded the contract to deliver the Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Project to DTP.

Being carried out under a public-private partnership (PPP), the project includes the A Line, B Line and G Line.

Besides delivering the project, DTP consortium is also responsible for maintaining and operating the line for the 29-year contract.

It has been operating the A and B lines since 2016.

The A Line serves downtown Denver and Denver International Airport, while the B Line connects Westminster with the dynamic Union Station Transit Center.

The Eagle P3 project is part of the Denver’s FasTracks programme to build 122 miles of commuter rail, light-rail and 18 miles of bus rapid transit service, among other works.
